Насправді я не дуже люблю фільми такого жанру. І тема політики широко представлена тут, мені не дуже цікава.Але по суті це фільм про дві людські долі, і тут розкривається багато філософських запитань.І вже з перших хвилин фільму стає цікаво, і ти захопливо спостерігаєш за розвитком подій. Сюжет тут такий: перекладачка Організації Об`єднаних Націй Сільвія Брум стає свідком розмови про замах на вбивство лідера однієї з африканських держав.Після цього вмішуються спецслужби Об`єднаних штатів Америки. В їх числі і Тобін Келлер, який підозріє, що Сільвія, можливо розповідає не всю правду.Перекладачка хоче завадити планам вбивць, але розуміє, що на неї тепер також полюють. Вона надіється на те, що їй вдасться залишитись вживих, і що їй повірять.
Головними героями є Ніколь Кідман і Шон Пен. Саме завдяки їхній бездоганній грі, фільм заворожує.
В цьому фільмі є дві сюжетних лінії. Мені цікавіше було слідкувати за розвитком романтичної лінії. Сільвію і Тобіна об`єднує трагедію і відчуття втрати, і при тому що весь фільм вони знаходяться на відстані, морально вони дуже близькі.
