17 квітня 1941р.український авіаконструктор який емігрував з Києва до США після Лютневої революції продемонстрував широкій публіці перший у світі гелікоптер-амфібію.Цей вертоліт був модифікацією відомого «VS-300».
Ігор Сікорський - великий авіаконструктор, один з піонерів авіабудування і винахідник гелікоптера.
