Формально-логічний стиль з'явився в результаті нагальної потреби у
такому стилі великої групи людей. Він є природним наслідком розвитку
мови технічної літератури. Ті, хто критикують цей стиль, забувають, що
технічні тексти призначені для фахівців, які володіють відповідними
знаннями та для яких відступ від звичного для них способу викладу
матеріалу ускладнює розуміння фактів. Згідно термінології В. В.
Виноградова, що визначає, зокрема, три найважливіших функції мови, а
саме: спілкування, повідомлення і вплив, технічна література переслідує
завдання повідомлення. Все, що порушує цю задачу, ускладнює
інформацію, є неприродним, а звідси неправомірним.
