Голова Верховної Ради України Олександр Турчинов затвердив Порядок доступу до відкритих засідань парламенту. Відтепер будь-яка особа зможе вільно відвідати засідання Верховної Ради, попередньо подавши електронну заявку та отримавши перепустку на відповідний пленарний день.
Зміни до Регламенту ВРУ щодо права громадян відвідувати засідання парламенту були внесені ще у березні цього року, однак механізм реалізації цього права через відсутність спеціального розпорядження Олександра Турчинова залишався невизначеним і на практиці потрапити до Верховної Ради звичайним українцям було нереально.
Після безрезультатних звернень до спікера парламенту з проханням виконати вимоги закону, редактор ресурсу «Доступ до правди», представниця ГО «Центр UA» Аліса Рубан за підтримки Інституту Медіа Права подала позов до голови Верховної Ради України Олександра Турчинова з вимогою забезпечити доступ громадян до відкритих засідань парламенту.
Незважаючи на те, що судове засідання у цій справі, призначене спочатку на 28 жовтня, вже декілька разів відкладалось (наразі розгляд справи призначений на 10 грудня 2014 р.), основний результат боротьби громадськості вже досягнутий – 27 жовтня Олександр Турчинов нарешті затвердив Розпорядження «Про порядок доступу осіб до відкритих пленарних засідань Верховної Ради України» №694.
Варто зауважити, що на офіційному сайті Верховної Ради зазначений документ досі не оприлюднений, однак юристи Інституту Медіа Права змогли отримати скановану копію Розпорядження у відповідь на свій інформаційний запит.
Відповідно до рішення Турчинова, вільний доступ до засідань буде забезпечений вже з дня відкриття першої сесії Верховної Ради восьмого скликання.
