Досліджуються наявні у фондової колекції музею матеріали та записані усні історії радянський військовослужбовців, які брали участь у бойових діях на території Північного В'єтнаму упродовж другої половини ХХ ст.
Здійснюється кількісний аналіз фотографій, документів, нагород, пам’ятних речей, у тому числі фрагментів американського озброєння, збережених у якості сувенірів учасниками бойових дій у В’єтнамі.
