3. Південь спочатку був заселений англійськими протестантами. Однак після 1800 року інтереси
промислової Півночі та аграрного Півдня почали набувати розбіжностей, основною причиною яких було
рабство. У 1860 році 11 північних штатів залишили Союз з метою створення самостійної держави –
Конфедерації Штатів Америки. Такий крок спричинив Громадянську війну і скасування рабства. Проте
