На розвиток вітчизняної економіки у 2014 році мали суттєвий вплив як сформовані у попередніх роках зовнішні та внутрішні дисбаланси, так і несприятлива цінова кон’юнктура на зовнішніх ринках, військовий конфлікт на сході України, анексія АР Крим і м. Севастополя та торговельні обмеження з боку Російської Федерації.
Протягом року економічні показники у східних областях, які мають значну частку у загальноукраїнських показниках, з кожним місяцем все більше погіршувалися.
У цілому обсяги промислового виробництва в Україні за 2014 рік скоротилися на 10,1 відсотка порівняно з 2013 роком.
