Останні роки відзначається вибух інтересу до літературної казки, особливо до англомовної літературної казці, яка в даний момент є особливо затребуваною. Казка в літературі починає активно створюватися в такі культурно-історичні періоди, коли відбувається поворотний момент в історії, криза, історико-культурний перелом, коли змінюються естетичні, моральні, духовні орієнтири суспільства. М.Н. Ліповецькій пише: «Літературна казка незмінно активізується в періоди значних історико-культурних переломів, коли змінюється духовна орієнтація суспільства, коли здійснюється перехід від руйнівної старої концепції особистості до ще не сформованої нової, що, звичайно, позначається на глибокій перебудову всієї художньої системи» [4].
