Таким чином, попри внутрішні суперечності в ОБСЄ, діяльність організації чинить потужний стабілізаційний вплив в умовах конфліктної ситуації та є важливим джерелом моніторингу та донесення інформації з конфліктних зон, зокрема і з території військових дій на Донбасі. Сьогодні це єдина міжнародна організація, яка має можливість інформувати міжнародну спільноту про перебіг подій на Сході України. І найбільше у продовженні безперешкодної діяльності СММ та географічному розширенні її доступу, зокрема, на територію Криму, зацікавлена саме Україна.

Україна також зацікавлена у введенні на територію зони АТО міжнародного миротворчого контингенту. Оскільки через ОБСЄ це здійснити неможливо і не доцільно, зусилля української дипломатії мають бути спрямовані на міжнародно-правове визнання Росії агресором через ГА ООН та рішення ООН щодо спрямування в Україну міжнародного миротворчого контингенту.
