Назви інших графств походять від географічних об’єктів – річок, озер тощо. Наприклад, Ліверпуль
з навколишніми населеними пунктами по обидва боки гирла річки Мерсі називається Мерсисайдською
конурбацією, Ньюкасл з навколишніми населеними пунктами по обидва боки гирла річки Тайн –
Тайнсайдською конурбацією, а орнітологічні заповідники на сході Англії в районі озер – “Норфолк Бродз” або Норфолкські озера.
